About Me
I am Rhonda Smith and am a Licensed Mental Health Counselor Associate (LMHCA) and in training to become a Registered Play Therapist (RTP) and has been working in the mental health field for over 15 years. I treat children of all ages: children, adolescents, and teens. Is your child or another member of your family showing signs of stress, anxiety, depression? Have you or they experienced trauma? Or possibly there are sensory or learning challenges present that may interfere with a healthy, balanced life? I may be able to help.
I work from a strengths-based approach combined with Child-Centered Play Therapy. I develop a therapeutic relationship to process their thoughts, feelings, and needs to assist in the healing of their anger, sadness, and frustrations.
If you are interested in learn more about me and how child-centered play therapy can help your child I offer a free consultation.
“What is child-centered play therapy?”
This definition of child centered play therapy (CCPT) comes from the University of North Texas as “CCPT is a developmentally responsive, play-based mental health intervention for young children ages 3 to 10 who are experiencing social, emotional, behavioral and relational disorders.”
